Animal Safe Haven & Adoptions, Inc.
Registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit community service rescue organization conducting TNR and no-kill animal fostering across Maryland.
Our Mission: Not Only a Statement
Animal Safe Haven and Adoptions, Inc. (ASHA) responds to community requests to help rescue stray, feral, abandoned, and abused animals around Maryland. We work to end the suffering of overpopulation via TNR (Trap, Neuter/Spay, Return), and help unwanted animals who have been abandoned or abused through placement in foster homes, veterinary care, rehabilitation, and adoption - no matter their age, breed, or disability. With ASHA, rescued animals have no time limit to find the perfect forever family. We do not euthanize in order to make room for new intakes; we manage our resources carefully and direct animals in need to partnering rescues when we are at capacity.
Rescue Work From The Heart
We care about the animals because we know they are not deserving of whatever situation or tragedy that led them to our care. And because we are in a position where we can create a positive impact on their lives we feel we must do all that we can.
Stray and feral kittens and young cats that are caught and rescued are typically scared, aggressive, and unsocialized at first. Thus many places and people would deem them "unadoptable" and would euthanize them on the spot, or send them back to the awful situation they came from.
We do not.
We have proven that with time, patience, and love they are able to be rehabbed and eventually learn to trust humans. Some cats may take just days, others weeks, months or years. Their options are limited if they do not show that they can cohabitate with people. So we work hard to find the perfect forever family, or farm, for each rescued animal. We will do what we can, as often as we can, to help the animals that are in need.
